Happy Mothers Day.....
To be woken by the excitement of 4 happy little faces, was the best start to the day. The kids were bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning when I was showered with special little gifts and breakfast in bed.
The hand made cards and gifts are priceless and I could not have been a prouder Mum. With the daily trials of ups and downs that life brings, nothing can compare to the love I get from those 4 beautiful babies of mine!!
We spent the day in the country at my Mum's place, and the kids were just as proud to give Nan her special hand made presents as I was to get mine. After lunch we took a walk to the local Skateboard Park where the kids just love it. Scooters, skateboards and lots of laughter resulted in the best opportunity to get some new pics of the kids.
Cate and Tilly posed for a pic and with a little play in
lightroom, look at the results....I love these pics!! Might have to see about getting these printed onto Canvas and hung in the lounge room.
Kai was moving too quick and
sooo not in the mood for pics. Totally enthralled in riding his skateboard I only managed to grab the odd snap shot.
Miss Ellie....What a laugh she was. Taking the safe approach of riding the skateboard sitting on her bottom was hilarious. Numerous stacks did not deter her determination to keep going, and she got there in the end!!
My Sister was also down to see Mum today, so all the grand kids were together and a perfect opportunity to grab a family shot. Ellie however is absent from this pic as she decided that riding the skateboard was more fun.
For Mum this Mothers Day, I was struggling for ideas of what to get her and $$$ are tight so I thought I would make her present and card. I could have purchased something small from the shop, but the cost of time and love that I put into making this present really made her day.
I could have gone with the traditional Happy Mothers Day on the front of the card, but I wanted to just say thanks. Mum has been my rock and support in so many ways, that saying Thank You was more appropriate.
I decided on a shadow box from
Twiddleybitz and set to making it. After playing with different ideas and designs this is what I came up with...
I must also make mention that a lot of the inspiration behind this came from the ever so talented
Mistra Hoolahan. Her blog provides the kick start to get the "
MOJO" happening and I personally wish to thank her....Thanks
Mis xoxSo to all the Mums out there in this big wide world, I hope your Mothers Day has been filled with much love and laughter.
Until next time, take care of you and happy scrapping.
